Song Hye-kyo bags grand prize at 2nd Blue Dragon Series Awards for 'The Glory'
Song Hye-kyo took home the top prize at the 2023 Blue Dragon Series Awards for her role in the hit Netflix series The Glory.
“I can't believe I'd receive this award. I want to praise myself for the first time. Good job, Hye Kyo,” she said in her acceptance speech.
This is the K-drama star's third Daesang (grand prize) in her acting career for her portrayal of Moon Dong-eun on the show. She won her first Daesang in 2013 for That Winter, The Wind Blows at the APAN Star Awards and again in 2016 for Descendants of the Sun at the KBS Drama Awards.
She has received six nods for the highly coveted award so far.
Apart from Hye-kyo, other big winners at the 2nd Blue Dragon Series Awards include former Miss A member Bae Suzy who won Best Actress for portraying Lee Yu-mi in Anna as well as Ha Jung-woo who secured the Best Actor award for his portrayal of Kang In-gu in Netflix’s Narco-Saints.
Big Bet from Disney+ won the Best Drama Award, beating The Glory, Narco-Saints, Bargain, and Weak Hero Class 1 in the category.
The recently concluded event, which was held on July 19 at Incheon Paradise City, marked the second edition of the Blue Dragon Series Awards. The award-giving body puts the spotlight on individuals and projects that stand out on television and streaming shows every year.
