HBO unleashes fiery new trailer and character posters for ‘Game of Thrones’ prequel ‘House of the Dragon’
HBO has just dropped an extensive new teaser trailer and character posters for the Game of Thrones prequel series House of the Dragon.
The streamer released the latest footage and posters from the epic fantasy series Thursday (Friday morning, May 6, local time).
House of the Dragon is set 200 years before the events of the original Game of Thrones series, which became HBO’s biggest hit ever and the most Emmy-winning drama of all time.
The upcoming series is from author George R.R. Martin (based on his book Fire & Blood) and co-creators and showrunners Ryan Condal (Colony) and Miguel Sapochnik (Finch) tells the story of a civil war that occurred in the House of Targaryen
Along with the teaser, HBO also unveiled nine character posters featuring the leads from the upcoming series.
House of the Dragon features a large cast including Paddy Considine (as King Viserys I), Emmy D’Arcy (as Princess Rhaenrya, Viserys’ first child and his heir apparent), Matt Smith (as Prince Daemon, Viserys’ younger brother), Rhys Ifans (as Ser Otto Hightower, the Hand of the King), Olivia Cooke (as Lady Alicent Hightower, Otto’s daughter), Fabien Frankel (as Ser Criston Cole, a knight with eyes for Rhaenrya), Steve Toussaint (as Lord Corlys Velaryon a.k.a. The Sea Snake), Eve Best (as Princess Rhaenys Velaryon) and Sonoya Mizuno (as Mysaria, confidante to Daemon Targaryen).
Fans will have longer trailers to look forward to as the latest footage is still described as a teaser trailer. The network previously released another official teaser trailer back in October.
