‘The Boys’ adds 3 new Supes for Season 3
Amazon is reportedly adding three new characters to The Boys' upcoming third season.
This news comes by way of Entertainment Weekly, which reported that Sean Patrick Flanery, Miles Gaston Villanueva and Nick Wechsler are joining Amazon Prime's gritty superhero series.
According to EW, Villanueva (Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders) will portray the role of Supersonic, a new Supe rumored to be an ex-flame of Erin Moriarty's Starlight. Flannery (The Boondock Saints), meanwhile, will play as Gunpowder while Wechsler (Revenge) will be suiting up as Blue Hawk. Amazon has yet to reveal further details about the series' new characters and their powers.
Previously, The Boys confirmed that Supernatural actor Jensen Ackles is also suiting up for the show's third season as "the original superhero" Soldier Boy, who became the first super celebrity after fighting in World War II.
Based on the best-selling graphic novel by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertzon, the series stars Karl Urban (Billy Butcher), Jack Quaid (Hughie), Antony Starr (Homelander), Erin Moriarty (Starlight), Chace Crawford (The Deep), Karen Fukuhara (Kimiko), Tomer Kapon (Frenchie), Laz Alonso (Marvin T. Milk), Dominique McElligott (Queen Maeve), Jessie T. Usher (A-Train), Nathan Mitchell (Black Noir), and Aya Cash (Stormfront).
Production of the third season of The Boys is already underway in Toronto, Canada. However, Amazon has yet to announce the official release date of the show's upcoming season.
