This Cyberpunk 2077-themed Game Boy looks totally rad
As Microsoft gears up for the release of the Xbox Series X, the company launched its final limited-edition Xbox One X console last month in the form of CD Projekt Red’s upcoming open-world action-RPG, Cyberpunk 2077.
The snazzy console sports a futuristic cybernetic design which includes glow in the dark decals, laser etchings and custom panels that faithfully captures the vast neon-soaked world of Night City.
To make the special edition console more enticing to fans, Microsoft also bundled it with a digital download of the highly-anticipated action-adventure game, 1TB hard drive and a custom-made wireless controller inspired by Keanu Reeves’ Cyberpunk 2077 character Johnny Silverhand.
Although the avant-garde design looks totally rad on Microsoft’s limited-edition console, it appears that the Cyberpunk theme looks even better on Nintendo’s legendary handheld console.
In a Twitter post, gamer and Blender artist Tomek Dittrich shared his mockup for a Cyberpunk 2077-themed Game Boy and we’re totally digging the ultramodern design on the retro console. Dubbed as Nightcity Cyber Boy, Dittrich’s 22-second clip also shows a pixelated version of Johnny Silverhand on the console's screen and a couple of classic Game Boy cartdriges.
“As a great fan of both #GameBoy and #Cyberpunk2077 I couldn't resist to mix those two in my latest @blender_org project: Nightcity Cyber Boy - a retro gaming console of the future,” Dittrich said.
Although Dittrich’s design is obviously just a concept, we’re crossing our fingers that Nintendo would hopefully give in to this idea and rebuild a new generation of the Game Boy that will co-exist alongside with the Switch.
