Sale alert: Art in Island offers special promo until July 31
Got nowhere else to go during this rainy season? You may want to have a productive afternoon in an interactive museum. Not only can it be easily enjoyed by all age groups, but it is also an affordable way to rediscover different art forms, like the exhibits shown in the Art in Island: The Media Square.
Officially returned in 2022 after renovation, the “first and largest mixed media art museum” in the Philippines now offers 15 fresh and fascinating art exhibits apart from the good ol’ 3D installations when it first opened in 2014.
What to expect
Some of the new installations include Stream of Life 2022, a mixed media installation that lets you be a part of the iconic artworks from famous artists such as Leonardo da Vinci's "Mona Lisa," "Starry Night" by Vincent van Gogh, and "The Scream" by Edvard Munch, among others. Also included in this exhibit is the Dancing with the Flamingo.
Also part of the new changes is the iconic “Angel of Wings” which is included in the Myth of the Jungle where you can experience the wonders of the forest with the hand-painted nature landscapes overlayed with illusions of creatures such as hummingbirds and deers.
The Hiwaga ng Pilipinas installation, which was introduced in 2018, is now part of the regular rate, so you can now enjoy and appreciate the country’s wildlife and landscape such as the Philippine eagle, tarsiers, the Banaue Rice Terraces, and more in a magical glow-in-the-dark scene without having to pay for an extra fee.
Wrap up the fun day with a good meal at their in-house Jeongwon Restaurant which offers ala carte and group meals. The price starts at P190.
The art museum’s admission regular admission fee is P850. The rate for high school and college students is P700, those in kindergarten and grade school, as well as senior citizens and persons with disabilities, can enjoy the museum for P600. Children under three feet are free of charge.
If you’ve got nowhere else to go this month, you might as well spend your free days here as the museum has an ongoing promo where high school and college students and their companions can avail of a P100 discount each at the regular rate.
To avail, simply present a screenshot of the promo post and a student ID or any proof of enrollment to the ticketing booth. The promo runs from June 29 to July 31.
