New cast member Shamier Anderson also made an announcement through his Instagram account with a picture of the same director's chair, a mysterious movie poster with his character, and the kung fu clip from The Matrix edited with his face.
The movie is the fourth installment of the action-packed franchise about “organized” assassins and the criminal underworld. It focuses on the story of John Wick (Keanu Reeves), a well-known retired assassin and his return to a life of violence. The fourth installment will further tell Wick’s story and how his life continues to get stretched in all directions.
The John Wick franchise was mostly well-received, with minimal criticisms aimed at the cliché revenge story and the overall look of the movie.
John Wick 4 was initially slated for a March 21, 2021 release, but due to delays because of the COVID-19 pandemic it will be bumped to March 27, 2022.
