Thomas Shelby is making a comeback!

Netflix announced that a Peaky Blinders film is in the works with star of the series Cillian Murphy reprising his role and co-producing.

"It seems like Tommy Shelby wasn't finished with me... It is very gratifying to be collaborating with Steven Knight and Tom Harper on the film version of Peaky Blinders. This is one for the fans," the Oscar-winning actor said.

"When I first directed Peaky Blinders over 10 years ago, we didn't know what the series would become, but we did know that there was something in the alchemy of the cast and the writing that felt explosive," director of the upcoming film Tom Harper shared with Deadline.

"Peaky has always been a story about family—and so it's incredibly exciting to be reuniting with Steve and Cillian to bring the movie to audiences across the world on Netflix."

Work on the film is set to begin later in the year and together with BBC Films, according to Deadline.

The series' creator Steven Knight is also on board to write the script. He previously told the entertainment outlet that a movie was going to happen.

While details about the plot and the cast are still being kept under wraps, Knight previously said that it would be set during World War II.

The BBC drama series followed the story of a criminal gang led by Thomas Shelby after World War I. It featured an ensemble cast including Murphy, Helen McCrory, Paul Anderson, Sophia Rundle, and Joe Cole.

The hit show, which ran for six seasons, has several nominations and awards under its belt including accolades from the British Academy Television Craft Awards, TV Choice Awards, and Irish Film & Television Awards.
