Demon Slayer: Sega reveals playable characters in ‘The Hinokami Chronicles’

Sega has revealed the full list of characters that will be featured in the upcoming fighting game Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles.

In a recent PlayStation blog, Sega confirmed that the highly-awaited video game adaptation of the beloved anime series will feature a total of 18 characters.

The character roster includes Tanjiro Kamado's water and sun breathing forms, Nezuko, Zenitsu Agatsuma, Inosuke Hashibira, Giyu Tomioka, Sakonji Urokodaki, Sabito, Makomo, Shinobu Kocho, Kyojuro Rengoku, and Murata.

Additionally, six characters from the mini-series spinoff Junior High and High School!! Kimetsu Academy Story will also be playable in the game.

Sega's highly-awaited Demon Slayer game will include a solo play mode featuring the stories from the anime's "Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc” up through the “Mugen Train Arc". Aside from the campaign option, the game will also allow players to duke it out using their favorite characters from the anime series with the 2 vs 2 mode.

Locally known in Japan as Kimetsu no Yaiba: Hinokami Keppūtan, the arena fighting game is slated to come out on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea and Southeast Asia on Oct. 14, 2021.

Aside from the game and the massively-successful Demon Slayer movie, the second season of the anime series is officially underway. The new season, which will cover the manga's Entertainment District Arc, will also debut this year.

Based on the best-selling manga by Koyoharu Gotouge, the anime series, which first premiered in 2019, follows the story of Tanjiro and his journey to find a cure for his sister Nezuko, who turned into a demon following their family’s brutal murder
