It's official: The Filipino version of South Korea's Running Man reality series is returning for a second season!

The exciting news was announced through a teaser video posted on the official social media accounts of Running Man Philippines, teasing the continuation to be "bigger" and "crazier" than before.

"Abangan ang brand new season ng Running Man PH, coming to GMA this 2024!" the caption read.

The first season premiered in September last year and has the likes of Mikael Daez, Glaiza de Castro, Ruru Madrid, Buboy Villar, Kokoy de Santos, Angel Guardian and Lexi Gonzales as part of the adaptation's cast.

The 32-episode series saw Angel besting all the other contestants to become the show's first "Ultimate Runner." She claimed victory as she faced Lexi in the nametag ripping mission of the “Running Man Superpower Battle” race.

In an Instagram post, Angel turned emotional as she reflected on her journey, the beloved series, and her talented colleagues.

"Now that we’re down to our last episode ramdam na ramdam ko na yung lungkot. Haaay nakakaiyak pala gumawa ng reel!" she wrote in the caption. "To my co-mananakbos, I just wanna say na love na love ko kayo and grateful ako sa inyo—the family that’s been built during the making of RMPH is incomparable."

"I never thought na magiging ganito kasaya at ka tight ang samahan natin. Salamat Runners! At salamat sa lahat ng sumuporta at nagtiwala! Mahal namin kayo!" she added.

The first season of Running Man Philippines was co-produced by GMA Network and Korean broadcasting company Seoul Broadcasting System.

The original Korean series features TV host Yoo Jae-suk, Haha, Jee Seok-jin, Kim Jong-kook, actress and TV personality Song Ji-hyo, and Yang Se-chan as part of the cast.

Former cast members include Descendants of the Sun and Vincenzo star Song Joong-ki, TV personality Lee Kwang-soo, Gary, and former After School member Lizzy.

Details regarding the second season's cast and premiere date have yet to be revealed.
