First look at ‘Trese’ anime premiering on Netflix in 2021
The anime version of Trese, the black and white Pinoy komik by Budjette Tan and artist Kajo Baldisimo is all set to premiere in 2021. Netflix Philippines posted a first look at the highly anticipated series adaptation on Twitter and Facebook
The teaser photo features the titular character, Alexandra Trese, a detective who deals with crimes of supernatural origin in a city where mythical creatures of Philippine folklore live in hiding among humans. The detective's reflection is shown facing a window overlooking the Manila skyline on a rainy night.

The Tweet was followed up by another close-up image of the bad-ass detective brandishing a bloody kris, followed by the caption: "It's over for you tikbalangs. What are you most excited to see when TRESE comes to Netflix??"

It was confirmed during the Netflix Anime Festival 2020, dubbed the “Future of Anime, Together,” that the Philippine-made anime series set in Manila will premiere next year.
Throughout the series, Trese regularly deals with Filipino monsters and paranormal beings, including aswang, kapre, and tikbalang.
"Trese" is slated to premiere on Netflix in 2021.
