Remember Miniclip? Our childhood favorite has shut down its servers after 21 years

Remember the times you got overwhelmed with school work and all you did was log in to Miniclip.com to make everything better? Here’s some not-so-good news: our childhood go-to for games has officially shut down its servers.
Only two programs remain on the site: 8 Ball Pool and Agario.

Miniclip has officially shut down all of its web browser games. 8 Ball Pool and Agario are the only games available.

Launched in 2001, Miniclip was much loved back in the day for its fun free-to-play games that reached over 400, covering a myriad of categories like arcade, cooking, strategy, among others.
PC Gamer pointed out two factors that could have led to this move. On top of the shutdown of Adobe Flash in late 2020, there’s also the factor “that younger audiences just have so much more media these days,” including mobile phones, tablets, and other gaming devices.
Despite its decision to put an end to most of its online programs, PC Gamer clarified that the company itself is doing just fine. “It’s now mainly a mobile publishing company with offices all around the world. It even bought the publisher of the highly successful mobile game Subway Surfers in June of this year.”
