Heat wave, Jaclyn Jose, and Carlos Yulo among most searched terms by Filipinos on Google in 2024

It's almost time to close the chapter on the year 2024. Before the year ends, Google has released its annual list of most searched topics, people, movies, and more by Filipinos.

According to Google Philippines, six of the top 10 overall searches were news items. 

This year, the term "heat wave" was the most keyed-in query as the country experienced extreme heat as high as 45 degrees Celsius in April and May.

Actress Jaclyn Jose, who passed away in March, and the Olympics were also popular searches during the year.

The most searched male personality in 2024 is double gold-winning gymnast Carlos Yulo while the most searched female for the year was the nation's girl group BINI. Yulo was also the most popular topic on Google for sports.

In the world of pop culture, Filipinos searched the most for K-Drama Queen of Tears, Inside Out 2, lyrics for the song Sining by Dionela, and Sprunki Horror Music Game.
