Excited to watch Hamilton in Manila?

Jason Arrow is set to play Alexander Hamilton in the award-winning production’s first-ever international tour, which is set to make its Asian premiere in Manila in September.

Producers Jeffrey Seller and Michael Cassel AM made the announcement on Monday, June 5, calling it a “natural decision” to push through with Jason's legacy with Hamilton. The latter originated the role in its Australian cast during its March 2021 premiere in Sydney, followed by other stops in Melbourne, Brisbane, and Auckland.

“Jason’s nuanced, thoughtful, and searing rendition of Alexander Hamilton has been beloved by audiences throughout Australia and New Zealand. We are thrilled that he will continue bringing his sensational performance to audiences around the world in Hamilton’s international tour,” Michael said.

Jason, for his part, said such an opportunity has been “the single greatest honor” of his career.

“Playing Alexander Hamilton has been the single greatest honor of my career and I am so proud to have the opportunity to continue to learn so much from this character,” he said.

“Audiences throughout Australia and New Zealand have reacted so warmly to Hamilton and I can’t wait to share it with more people all over the world,” he added.

The entire cast will be revealed in the next few months.

Hamilton’s first international tour kicked off at the Spark Arena in Auckland in May. It’s set to premiere in Manila at The Theatre at Solaire in September this year, which will be followed by its Middle East premiere at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi in January 2024.

Premiering in 2015, Hamilton tells the story of American Founding Father Alexander Hamilton through song and rap.

It won 16 nominations and 11 awards, including best musical at the Tony Awards, considered the highest accolade in the musical industry. It also won the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for drama.
