New characters, quests in Genshin Impact Version 1.1 update
Open-world exploration and adventure game Genshin Impact will launch its Version 1.1 update featuring four new playable characters, fresh quests, the first seasonal event, and a new Reputation System for individual regions of the game.
The new update titled A New Star Approaches is scheduled to arrive on Nov. 11 and heralds the arrival of four new characters, and two pairs of four- and five-star heroes.
- Childe (voiced by Ryouhei Kimura) is a five-star hydro-archer, the youngest, yet one of the most dangerous because of a switch hitting style that combines melee with ranged attacks with ease.
- Zhongli (voiced by Tomoaki Maeno) is a five-star geo-spear wielder invited by the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor. Extremely knowledgeable in all things, he willingly pays any asking price.
- Xinyan (voiced by Chiaki Takahashi) is a four-star pyro user who wields claymores and can summon a protection shield by playing a guitar.
- Diona (voiced by Shiori Izawa) is a four-star cyro-based character with a Molotov ability to trouble opponents.
Aside from the four characters, the update will add three full acts of quests to complete the Liyue core storyline. More character-specific side quests will be added as well.
A Reputation System will add a new NPC to each place to add more objectives and rewards.
There will be the first-ever Unreconciled Stars seasonal event "which calls on all players to fight back against a sudden and terrible catastrophe facing Teyvat” with four-star electro archer Fischl as a reward. There will also be co-op quests lasting for two weeks.
Developer miHoYo confirmed that Genshin Impact’s Version 1.1 update will arrive Nov. 11 on PC, Android, iOS and PS4, with PS5 backwards compatibility.
