Sylvester Stallone joins the cast of 'The Suicide Squad'

Sylvester "Sly" Stallone will be joining Margot Robbie, Idris Elba, Viola Davis, and the rest of The Suicide Squad cast for its sequel, as confirmed by director James Gunn.

While several actors are not returning for the second franchise of the said DC Film (Jared Leto, Will Smith, Cara Delevingne, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, and Karen Fukuhara), there are, however, several additions to the cast—including Stallone.

DC series fans were surprised when Gunn posted a selfie with the veteran actor with the caption, "Always love working with my friend @officialslystallone & our work today on #TheSuicideSquad was no exception. Despite Sly being an iconic movie star, most people still don’t have any idea what an amazing actor this guy is."

One Instagram user asked in the comments if Stallone is indeed going to be involved in the film. Gunn replied with a resounding "Yes."

In the same photo, Stallone replied and said how humbled he was for the compliment. "James, coming from a tireless and amazing Director, I consider that to be the paramount of compliments! Keep punching, Sly"

Stallone himself confirmed the news by posting a screenshot of an article with a caption, "Working with this incredible Director on this astounding project has made this an amazing year. I am a very lucky man to be surrounded by such talent.! #Warner Bros."

While it is still unclear as to what his role will be, there is some speculation that he will be the voice of King Shark.
