‘The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim’ gets 10 year Anniversary Edition

Celebrate a decade of taking ‘an arrow to the knee’ with a special next-gen enhanced anniversary edition of Skyrim coming exactly 10 years after the game was first released.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was first released worldwide for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360 way back on November 11, 2011. Since then, the popular open-world action role-playing game has been ported to several new systems and is widely considered as one of the best video games of all time, well-known for its replayability and longevity.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the game, developer Bethesda Game Studios announced The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition, a re-released upgrade packed with extras to keep fans coming back yet again.

The Anniversary edition contains the full game, along with all three of its expansions, namely Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and Dragonborn. It has all the enhancements that came out with the Special Edition, the remaster Bethesda released back in 2016.

The Anniversary edition also comes with new features, including a new fishing mechanic, as well as 500 pieces of Creation Club content, quests, dungeon, bosses, weapons and spells unique to the version, potentially providing returning Skyrim players with hours of brand-new content.

According to Bethesda Softworks content manager Parker Wilhelm, the game will also have a new Survival Mode and a Saints and Seducers questline.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition will be available for the PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S and X, as well as the PlayStation 4 on Nov. 11, 2021. For PS4 players, the Anniversary Edition will also have backwards compatibility with the PlayStation 5.
