That's so fetch! 'Mean Girls' cast reunite for Black Friday ad

Walmart's new Black Friday ad is so fetch!

Nearly 20 years since the iconic comedy film Mean Girls made its premiere, its lead stars Lindsay Lohan, Lacey Chabert, and Amanda Seyfried reunited to reprise their roles for Walmart's annual Black Friday offerings.

The two-minute commercial shows three-fourths of the Plastics in their adulthood, revealing that Lacey's character, the insecure rich girl Gretchen Wieners, is now an excited mother to a mean girl of her own.

She could later be seen watching her daughter and two of her friends practice their dance for what seems to be TikTok content, before yelling out her memorable phrase, "This is gonna be so fetch," much to the disdain of her daughter.

Meanwhile, Amanda's Karen Smith is shown to still retain her ditsy and dim-witted ways as she now works as a weather reporter.

"Karen Smith here, and there's a 30 percent chance it's already Wednesday," she reports to the camera before failing to catch a football coming her way.

Finally, Lindsay's Cady Heron is revealed to have found her calling as a guidance counselor at her high school alma mater. But it seems that nothing has changed as her character is still having difficulties adapting to the ways of the new generation.

Walmart's commercial also recreated several iconic scenes from the film, such as the Jingle Bell Rock dance for the school's Winter Talent Show, but this time, the one dominating the stage is Gretchen's daughter and her friends, complete with their own Santa girl costumes.

While Cady and Karen sit back and enjoy the show, Gretchen gets up and starts recording the show with much enthusiasm, which is a reference to the mother of Rachel McAdams' character Regina George.

Speaking of Regina, where exactly is the meanest girl of them all?

According to Page Six, Rachel was noticeably absent from the commercial simply because she declined to participate in it.

"Rachel McAdams didn’t want to do it," an insider told the news outlet. "They were all offered it. But the three of them loved being together for their reunion. They had a great time talking about being moms, and it was definitely a loss not having Rachel there."

Aside from Lindsay, Lacey, and Amanda, Daniel Franzese and Rajiv Surendra returned as Damian and Kevin Gnapoor, respectively.

Mean Girls premiered in 2004 and has since become a cult classic. It puts audiences into the shoes of a naive teenage girl Cady as she is suddenly thrusted into the world of a modern American high school after years of homeschooling in Africa.

Navigating the social hierarchy is already hard enough, but her situation worsens when she attracts the attention of "The Plastics," a trio of very mean and very popular girls.

Mean Girls has a musical adaptation coming to theaters in January next year.
