Attention, cinephiles! You can now read the full screenplay for Wes Anderson's latest film, The French Dispatch, online.
The film premiered during the 2021 Cannes Film Festival after being delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Anderson co-wrote the screenplay with Roman Coppola, Hugo Guinness, and Jason Schwartzman as a "love letter to journalists."
The French Dispatch brings to life a collection of stories from the last issue of an American magazine after the death of its editor. The film, set in the fictional French city of Ennui-sur-Blasé, highlights three different tales: The Concrete Masterpiece, Revisions to a Manifesto, and The Private Dining Room of the Police Commissioner.
The director called this film his "love letter to journalists," citing The New Yorker as his inspiration.
It stars Owen Wilson, Tilda Swinton, Benicio Del Toro, Léa Seydoux, Timothée Chalamet, Lyna Khoudri, Frances McDormand, Bill Murray, and Jeffrey Wright.
