Southeast Asia's first pop-up gaming truck launches in the Philippines
Move over, mobile cafes and outdoor food stalls. The first ever pop-up mobile gaming truck has been unveiled!
GG Company Inc. has launched the GG Truck, Southeast Asia’s first pop-up gaming truck, which aims to engage gamers of all ages amid the pandemic.
The truck aims to gamify more than 42,000 barangays in the Philippines by introducing more people to the gaming experience, especially to Gen Z and millennial audiences.
"We realized that many brands and organizations struggle to connect with the elusive Gen Z and Millennial market,” said GG Company president Ron Castro in a statement.
“For these audiences, gaming has emerged as the new pop culture, and is increasingly becoming the primary means for connection and socialization especially during this pandemic. GG Truck allows brands to offer Gen Z and Millennials relevant and engaging experiences.”
With movement still largely restricted, the GG Truck can travel to different barangays around the country to set up on-ground and online gaming events, demos, and promotions in safe outdoor settings.
The GG Truck comes equipped with a 10x6-foot LED screen, a pop-up stage and a sound system to give users an immersive gaming experience.
It is also equipped with free Wi-Fi with a range of up to 500 meters, so gamers can connect and interact in a tournament platform with their matches broadcast online, maybe even within the safety of their homes if within range.
According to the company's website, GG Truck’s gaming inventory comes with hottest esports titles like Mobile Legends Bang Bang! and League of Legends: Wild Rift, as well as over 100+ exclusive casual games.
With the pandemic still ongoing, the pop-up gaming truck adheres to health and safety protocols set by the Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) and the Department of Health (DOH).
Where the GG Trucks are deployed, the company has implemented the mandatory use of face masks and face shields, frequent sanitation in all its events, and required swab testing for employees prior to demos taking place.
“Safety is our utmost priority for any event. We work closely with the local government units to ensure all safety standards are being met so that everyone can enjoy gaming without worry. This is a time where people crave for interaction and need something positive in their lives, but we want to be there for them at the right time and in the right way,” said Castro.
Aside from gaming, the innovative GG Truck can also be used by brands, game publishers and businesses for activities like product launches, in-game promotions, employee engagement activities, public service initiatives, and more.
