Grammy-nominated R&B duo Silk Sonic, consisting of Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak are the latest celebrities to join Fortnite.

In a blog post, Epic Games announced that it is expanding its Icon Series of skins with the addition of the musical artists set to arrive on Thursday, Feb. 10, 2022.

The partnership with Atlantic Records brings Silk Sonic into Fortnite with ‘70s-inspired outfits in the duo’s signature style, a new radio station and a player tournament.

Players of the battle royale game will be able to become both of the musical artists in-game, and wield new Back Bling and Pickaxes that resemble the figures.

Bruno Mars will feature the Sound Scepter Pickaxe, which will act as a hybrid item and become Back Bling when not equipped. As for Anderson .Paak, he comes with the Sonic Snare Back Bling, and the Boom Bap Pickaxe.

The free-to-play battle royale game developed and published by Epic Games is known for bringing in pop culture worlds from Marvel, Star Wars, as well as real-world celebrities and musical artists as popular characters.

Recent additions include Marvel superhero Spider-Man, actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and other musicians such as rapper Travis Scott, Marshmello and Ariana Grande, who headlined a major in-game live music event in 2021.

As reported by The Verge, this isn’t the first time the members of Silk Sonic have been featured in Fortnite. Mars has his own Fortnite emote, while .Paak was part of a virtual concert series in 2020.

Fortnite is also getting a new in-game radio station called Icon Radio, which will feature tunes from the musical duo.
