Taylor Swift to release 'Speak Now' re-recorded album this July

Taylor Swift dropped a bombshell during her 'Eras' concert in Nashville: Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) is happening.

Swifties who were at the Nissan Stadium concert on Friday evening, May 5 (US time), got to hear the good news first as Taylor revealed her next re-recorded release.

In an Instagram post, Taylor said that the album will be out on July 7 "just in time for July 9th, iykyk."

"I first made Speak Now, completely self-written, between the ages of 18 and 20. The songs that came from this time in my life were marked by their brutal honesty, unfiltered diaristic confessions and wild wistfulness. I love this album because it tells a tale of growing up, flailing, flying and crashing … and living to speak about it."

The album will come with six previously unreleased tracks, along with the 14 other original tracks.

"I absolutely cannot wait to celebrate Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) with you on July 7th."

Speak Now features hit songs like Mean, Sparks Fly, and The Story of Us. The album earned a nomination at the 2012 Grammys for Best Country Album, with Mean winning Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance.

Speak Now is the third updated album by the American singer-songwriter after Fearless (Taylor's Version) in 2020 and Red (Taylor's Version) in 2021.

In 2019, Taylor announced her plans to re-record all her old records released between 2006 to 2017 after losing control of her masters to Scooter Braun, who bought her music catalog for $300 million (P16.6 billion).
