PH ranks highest in watching Pornhub on smartphones in 2022—Most users identified as female
Spotify, YouTube, and Google aren't the only sites that recap the year in review. Pornhub has also released its 2022 insights, which revealed that the Philippines ranked the highest in most users watching NSFW videos on their smartphones and the country with most of its viewers being female.
In its 9th Year in Review, Pornhub unveiled all the hottest trends, terms, searches, and more on the site. Categories such as "hentai," "Japanese," "milf," "lesbian," and "pinay" were among the most-searched terms for the year worldwide.
While in 2021, the Philippines led the ranks with the most time spent per visit, the country fell two spots and saw a 32-second decrease in average visit duration. Now, the top spot goes to Egypt with 11 minutes and 12 seconds spent, followed by Japan with 10 minutes and 59 seconds spent, and the Philippines with 10 minutes and 59 seconds spent.
In terms of traffic, the Philippines ranked ninth in the top 20 countries, with most of the site's users coming from the United States, United Kingdom, France, Japan, and Mexico.
Pinoys also still came out on top as the country with the most proportion of female visitors, with 53% of visitors female vs. 47% male. It looks like more Gen Z Filipinos are also spending time on Pornhub as 38% of viewers are aged 18 to 24, while there 30% of them are aged 25 to 34.
Another interesting tidbit in this year's recap was that 84% of all Pornhub traffic was with smartphones. In this category, the Philippines had the highest mobile usage with 94% of visitors using their mobile phones to watch.
What are Pinoys searching for?
In 2022, "pinay" videos continued to be the top search in the Philippines, followed by "Japanese," "pinoy," "hentai," and "Korean." Pornhub also logged a 435% increase in searches for "pinay tattoo" and a 234% increase in "hot romantic sex."
"When compared to the rest of the world visitors from the Philippines are 19% more likely to view the Romantic category and 180% more likely to view Behind The Scenes videos," the recap read.
