Did you know that Amazon Prime Video's new epic fantasy series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has a Filipino dub? And no, it's not like the version you've seen on local television years ago during one hot afternoon while eating instant noodles and drinking soda.

Twitter user @lutheraquino shared a phone recording of a scene in which the characters are speaking in the national language.

"I thought yeah it would be fun to watch The Rings of Power in another language," @lutheraquino wrote. "So I checked the available audio and I just saw Filipino is an option??? I LOVE IT"

Fellow users expressed their approval in the quote tweets.

"This owns," a user said, adding a fire emoji suggesting that it's "lit" or excellent.

"Gonna start watching the rest of the episodes in Filipino dub only," another user said.

Others also mentioned media companies GMA and TV5, which are known for airing foreign shows with Filipino dub.

PhilSTAR L!fe checked The Rings of Power on Amazon Prime Video, and found that episodes are currently available to watch in 32 audio languages with 37 languages available for subtitles, including Filipino.

Based on English writer J.R.R. Tolkien's magnum opus, which is regarded as one of the greatest works of literature worldwide, The Rings of Power is set thousands of years before the events of the trilogies of Peter Jackson's The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.

The eight-episode series premiered its first two episodes on Sept. 1 (Sept. 2 Manila time). It has been praised for its plot, cinematography, visuals and musical score, but also received criticism for its pacing.

The Rings of Power's third episode will air on Sept. 9 (Sept. 10 Manila time), and the succeeding ones every Friday (Saturday Manila time). The season one finale will be released on Oct. 21/22.
