‘Fast X’ – Vin Diesel reveals title of next ‘Fast and Furious’ movie
Vin Diesel has revealed the title of the next installment to the blockbuster Fast and Furious franchise this morning, April 21, and it's Fast X.
Diesel posted the image of the title on his official instagram account with the caption, "Day one..." accompanied by the two-hands-high-fiving emoji (or a hands-clasped-in-prayer emoji, depending on your perspective).
There have been some humorous takes in the past about the title reveal, such as a couple of guesses from the A.V. Club which include "FasTen Your Seatbelts" and "Fast and Fur10us," but it would seem like Diesel has been saying the title all along in various social media posts, just not in its final form with the "X" being the Greek number for "10."
Fast X will star Diesel, and franchise mainstays Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Sung Kang, and Nathalie Emmanuel.
Joining the cast are Brie Larson (Captain Marvel), Jason Momoa (Aquaman), and Daniela Melchior (The Suicide Squad) in undisclosed roles.
Other returning cast members have yet to be officially confirmed. Justin Lin, who directed parts three through six as well as F9, is returning to direct Fast X and its sequel.
Fast X is scheduled for theaters on May 19, 2023.
