Stranger Things creators confirm season 4 won't be its last

It seems that we’re going to see a lot more of Eleven and the rest of the Hawkins gang after the Duffer brothers confirmed that Netflix’s widely popular science fiction horror series Stranger Things won’t be ending in season 4.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Stranger Things creators Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer said that the upcoming season 4 won’t be the show's climax.

“Season four won't be the end. We know what the end is, and we know when it is,” Ross said. “[The pandemic] has given us time to look ahead, figure out what is best for the show. Starting to fill that out gave us a better idea of how long we need to tell that story.”

Ross said that although filming has been put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they were able to polish and finish all of the scripts of the current season.

“We've had a lot more time to work on the scripts. For the first time, we have all the scripts written and we're able to look at it as a whole piece and make adjustments," Ross said.

There is no word yet when the filming will resume but the Duffer brothers said that everyone is looking forward to get back to work to finish the show’s season 4.

“Everyone's excited to get back to work, but the priority is the safety of the cast and crew, and that will dictate when we go back,” Ross said.

Last February, Netflix released a teaser video of the show’s season 4 which confirmed the return of the beloved Jim Hopper (David Harbour) who was presumed dead following a huge blast in Hawkins.
