Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint to reunite for ‘Harry Potter: Return to Hogwarts’ TV special
Wingardium Leviosa! The original Hogwarts School trio is reuniting to look back on their magical adventures from 20 years ago.
Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint will join the other cast members from all eight Harry Potter films and filmmaker Chris Columbus for the first time in an HBO Max special Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts to mark the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.
Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling, however, wouldn’t make a personal appearance on the show.
Other Harry Potter alumni like Helena Bonham Carter, Robbie Coltrane, Ralph Fiennes, Gary Oldman, Imelda Staunton, Tom Felton, James Phelps, Oliver Phelps, Mark Williams, Bonnie Wright, Alfred Enoch, Matthew Lewis, Evanna Lynch, and Chris Columbus, among others, will join the trio on the reunion special.
“There’s magic in the air here with this incredible cast, as they all return home to the original sets of Hogwarts, where they began 20 years ago. The excitement is palpable as they prepare to take their fans on a very special and personal journey, through the making of these incredible films,” executive producer Casey Patterson said.
Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts will “tell an enchanting making-of story through all-new, in-depth interviews and cast conversations,” HBO Max said in a statement. The TV special is scheduled to air via HBO Max on Jan. 1, 2022.
Fans can check out Harry Potter's 20th-anniversary hub on Wizarding World's official website as they await the reunion special. A four-part competition event Harry Potter: Hogwarts Tournament of Houses will also be available starting on Nov. 29, on HBO GO
