Apple's new 3rd-gen AirPods gets design and features similar to the Pro for less the price

At its Oct. 18 Unleashed event, Apple unveiled the third-generation AirPods, which share more similarities with the AirPods Pro than its previous generation counterpart.

These new earbuds feature an all-new design akin to Apple's pro version, just without the silicone ear tips. While they don't have noise-canceling capabilities like the AirPods Pro, the third-gen buds pack the same Apple H1 chip and force sensor controls as well as audio features like spatial audio and adaptive EQ.

Spatial audio creates a virtual surround sound, giving the AirPods' wearer an immersive audio experience as if they were in a movie theater. On the other hand, adaptive EQ tunes your tracks based on how the buds fit in your ear.

The third-gen AirPods and the charging case are now also IP4X water- and sweat-resistant so they are well-equipped for workouts and use in the rain.

Battery-wise, the new earbuds promise six hours of listening time and a total of 30 hours of use together with the charging case which now supports MagSafe charging. Moreover, Apple says a five-minute charge in the charging case will give the AirPods an hour of listening time.

The new AirPods are available for P10,990—it sits between the $129 second-gen AirPods and the $249 AirPods Pro.

During the Unleashed event, Apple also introduced the new MacBook Pro models with the M1 Pro and M1 Max chips and new colors of the HomePod Mini.
