'Stranger Things' fans say Eddie Munson shredding Metallica's 'Master of Puppets' is one of the show's most iconic moments

While Stranger Things fans are split about how the fourth season came to a close, they agree on one thing: Eddie Munson's guitar solo in the Upside Down is one of the best moments of the entire series.

Warning: spoilers for Stranger Things 4: Volume 2 ahead.

In the penultimate episode, Eddie, played by Joseph Quinn, took center stage as he shredded Metallica's Master of Puppets in the Upside Down to draw out some Demobats.

As the metalhead rocked away, red lightning crackled, adding to the badassery of the moment. Eddie even dedicated the song to Chrissy, who died at the hands of big bad Vecna in the season's first episode.

In case you didn't know, it was actually Quinn himself playing the guitar in some parts of the scene.

"I've been playing since I was a kid but I'm no virtuoso," the actor told RadioTimes. "So I had most of the song down, but for the solo, we had to fly someone, a black belt metal guitarist, in to help with that. The rest of it? I had a stab at it, yeah."

Fans on Twitter and YouTube have called the moment one of the "best" and "most iconic" in the series, despite Eddie valiantly dying later in the episode.

"This scene made my body tingle and then explode!" a commenter on YouTube wrote.

"I SCREAMEd when he started 'Master of Puppets!' The most metal scene I've ever watched, ever. We are all crushed by his death, but I think they did him justice with such a badass send-off," another wrote.

Another netizen said this scene "immortalized" Eddie as one of the show's most iconic characters. "Long live Eddie the Banished," they wrote.
