Kevin Smith rocks out to the 'Masters of The Universe: Revelation' transformation score

The beloved Masters of the Universe cartoon from the 1980's is back and remade into an upcoming Netflix animated series from the creator of Clerks and the Jay & Silent Bob films.

Director Kevin Smith released a reaction video featuring the score which accompanies the transformation scene of Prince Adam into He-Man for the upcoming Netflix animated Masters of the Universe: Revelation series.

Smith, who serves as showrunner and executive producer for the upcoming show, couldn't contain his excitement as the rousing musical score from composer Bear McCreary crescendoed with what we can only assume is the accompanying animation on the screen before him.

Although we can't see what Smith is seeing (unless you can zoom in and enhance the reflection bouncing off his eyes like in Blade Runner) the music alone—which is reminiscent of the thumping beats and guitar riffs that McCreary is known for on shows like Battlestar Galactica and The Walking Dead—is sufficiently "metal," with the Mallrats director throwing up the devil horns just as Prince Adam (voiced by Supergirl's Chris Wood) shouts the iconic line, "I have the power!"

"It is perfect! Perfect!" Smith shouts.

Masters of the Universe was created in 1982 by the Mattel toy company as a sword and scorcery action figure line which came with small-format mini-comics included with each toy, detailing the mythos behind the world and character. The toy line would get a significant boost in popularity with the debut of He-Man and The Masters of the Universe cartoon series by Filmation in 1983. The cartoon ran until late 1985.

According to Netflix, Masters of the Universe: Revelation "will focus on the unresolved storylines of the iconic characters, picking up where they left off decades ago."

Masters of the Universe: Revelation was made through a partnership between Netflix and Mattel Television. The star-studded cast includes Wood, Mark Hamill, Kevin Conroy, Lena Headey, Jason Mewes, Alicia Silverstone, Justin Long, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Stephen Root, Harley Quinn Smith, Henry Rollins, and Diedrich Bader.

There's still no release date yet for Masters of the Universe: Revelation, but Netflix has announced that it will be soon.
