‘Star Trek: Discovery’ unveils first-look season 4 trailer

Published Apr 06, 2021 4:49 pm

Paramount Plus gave Star Trek: Discovery fans a glimpse of the upcoming fourth season with a teaser released during First Contact Day held on Monday (April 5).

Sonequa Martin-Green, who plays Captain Michael Burnham on the series, revealed the new teaser herself, as part of the virtual event celebrations.

The latest season finds Captain Burnham and the crew of the U.S.S. Discovery facing a terrifying threat unlike anything they’ve ever encountered. With Federation and non-Federation worlds alike feeling the impact, they must confront the unknown. And work together to ensure a hopeful future for all.

“We’re all living in uncertainty. Even for a crew as familiar with it as this one, the stress is taking its toll,” Burnham says. “But we are not in this alone, none of us are.”

The Federation has located a gravitational anomaly that stretches across five light years, threatening to tear apart the fabric of space at any time. Now, the Discovery crew, along with the help of some new friends, must work together to restore hope to the Federation.

"We are facing something we don't understand, something that could tear us all apart," Burnham admits. "There's only one way to confront the unknown—together."

Other season four cast members who are returning include Doug Jones (Saru), Anthony Rapp (Paul Stamets), Mary Wiseman (Sylvia Tilly), and Wilson Cruz (Dr. Hugh Culber). New additions from last season are also coming back, including David Ajala (Cleveland “Book” Booker), Blu del Barrio (Adira), and Ian Alexander (Gray).

We also get a brief glimpse of Grudge the cat, who showed up multiple times throughout season three, in the trailer for the upcoming season.
