Xbox Series X price and release date reportedly revealed
When Microsoft revealed that the Xbox Series X will hit shelves this November, the company opted to defer the announcement of the console’s exact release date. But now, it seems like the launch date of the highly-anticipated next generation console may have been finally revealed.
According to a report by Windows Central, the Xbox Series X and the still unannounced less-potent Xbox Series S will both debut on November 10, 2020. Apart from the release date, the report also claimed that the Xbox Series X will cost $499 or P24,269 with a $35 Xbox All Access financing option while its less powerful sibling will have a price tag of $299 or P14,549, and will have a $25 per month Xbox All Access financing option.
Earlier today, the design of the Xbox Series S along with its price has been revealed by Thurrott.com’s Brad Sams. Unlike the Xbox Series X, the less powerful console is white and appears to have a big air vent shaped like a speaker on top of it.
Ahead of the official announcement, a Twitter user under the name of WalkingCat also posted a clip showcasing the size comparison between the two consoles. The 4-second clip, which appeared to be taken from the upcoming official announcement, revealed that the Xbox Series X is almost twice bigger than its disc-less sibling.
The Xbox Series X will compete against Sony's highly-anticipated PlayStation 5 later this year. The Xbox Series X sports a series of enhanced features like improved speed and performance capabilities. The console can deliver games in 4K at 60 fps with support for up to 120 fps. Its custom designed processor also unlocks innovative features like variable rate shading and hardware-accelerated DirectX raytracing.
