Gear up, BLINKs! Looks like the heat won't end when the summer is over as HBO's upcoming series The Idol is set to premiere this June.

The TV network announced the news on Monday, April 17, along with its steamy fourth and final teaser on social media. "Hello, Angels. #THEIDOL premieres June 4 on Max," HBO captioned its post.

The series will meanwhile have its Philippine premiere on June 5, 9 a.m., via Max.

Created by singer-songwriter The Weeknd and Euphoria creator Sam Levinson, The Idol tells the story of up and coming pop star Jocelyn (Lily Rose-Depp) who develops a complicated relationship with self-help guru and cult leader Tedros (The Weeknd) as they catapult her to stardom.

Depp is joined by BLACKPINK's Jennie who's making her acting debut in the series as Jennie Ruby Jane. She is set to play the role of a star named Angel.

While the K-pop idol and the show's producers have been hush-hush about the other details of her role, rumors have been circulating that her character is bisexual and likely to be one of Jocelyn's love interest. Fans concluded this when the show previosly released a teaser showing Depp and Jennie spending time in a sauna before heading to a nightclub.

Meanwhile, Levinson said in a previous interview with Elle USA that Jennie was "so professional and hardworking" during the production of the show. "Watching her learn a full dance routine in about an hour and then perform it flawlessly 10 times in a row was amazing, and of course that’s just a tiny piece of her talent and ability," he added.

Joining Jennie, Depp, and The Weeknd in the six-episode series are Suzanne Son, Troye Sivan, Moses Sumney, Jane Adams, and Dan Levy, among others.

Jennie is the second BLACKPINK member to make her acting debut following Jisoo who starred in a lead role in the K-drama Snowflake. The four-piece K-pop group was in the Philippines last March 25 and 26 for their Born Pink world tour.
