'Train To Busan' US remake will be titled 'Last Train To New York' –Deadline
The American remake of the Korean zombie hit Train To Busan will be reportedly called Last Train To New York.
In an article from US Hollywood site Deadline, the upcoming film helmed by Indonesian-directed Timo Tjahjanto will take passengers to the Big Apple instead of the original plotline going to Busan, Korea.
Eagle-eyed fans were quick to read Deadline's excerpt on Tjahjanto's latest projects, which state: "Tjahjanto is currently attached to direct the New Line remake of Korean hit Train to Busan, which we hear could be titled Last Train to New York."
Tjahjanto also directed the Netflix martial arts film The Night Comes for Us and horror films May the Devil Take You and its sequel May the Devil Take You Too.
The US rendition of the hit film has been in the works as early as 2016. The Conjuring franchise director James Wan will serve as the remake's producer presented under New Line Cinema, which is part of WarnerMedia.
With Wan will be Michael Clear and Gaumont’s Nicolas Atlan and Terry Kalagian alongside screenwriter Gary Dauberman.
Meanwhile, Train To Busan's highly-anticipated sequel, Peninsula, was released in 2020 amid the pandemic.
