John Wick 5 is officially a go

Keanu Reeves will return as the legendary hitman in the fifth installment of the action-thriller film John Wick.

As per Deadline, Lionsgate CEO John Feltheimer said during an earnings call that they are planning to shoot John Wick 5 back-to-back with John Wick 4 once the schedule of Keanu Reeves frees up.

“We’re also busy preparing scripts for the next two installments of our John Wick action franchise, with John Wick 4 slated to hit theaters Memorial Day weekend 2022. We hope to shoot both John Wick 4 and 5 back-to-back when Keanu becomes available early next year,” he said.

The fourth installment in the movie franchise was originally slated to hit movie theaters on May 21, 2021 (the same release date of Matrix 4) but was later pushed back to May 27, 2022. Meanwhile, there’s no announcement as of the moment on the release date of John Wick 5.
