WATCH: Liza Soberano wears different looks in 'Lisa Frankenstein' official trailer
Liza Soberano's first Hollywood project is almost here!
The official trailer for Lisa Frankenstein is out, giving us a first glimpse of the Filipino actress' multiple looks in the upcoming film.
Just a little over a month before its premiere, film production company Focus Features released the official trailer showing more of the eerie, chaotic, and romantic adventures of Lisa Swallows (portrayed by Kathryn Newton) and her handsome beau from six feet below the ground (played by Cole Sprouse).
Centering on the main character's one-of-a-kind journey, the trailer begins with a road trip with her best pal, Taffy (portrayed by Soberano), who teases and asks her about her then-mysterious man.
Lisa, without hesitation, shares that she tends his grave and talks to him, just wishing to be with him one day. This dream eventually comes true after he comes back alive one fateful night. The couple then embarks on their romance with usual couple dates—but with some axe swinging and grave digging at times.
The trailer also showed Soberano in a cheerleader outfit as well as a robe.
Lisa Frankenstein is about a murderous adventure of finding love, happiness, and “a few missing body parts along the way.” Also included in the cast are Jenna Davis from the film M3GAN, Henry Eikenberry, Joe Chrest, and Carla Gugino.
The film marks the directorial debut of Zelda WIlliams, the daughter of the late Robin WIlliams. It was written by Diablo Cody, who also wrote the dark comedy film Jennifer’s Body.
Lisa Frankenstein is coming to cinemas on Feb. 9. Watch the official trailer below.
