WATCH: Camila Cabello gives 'a new twist to a timeless classic' in the trailer of 'Cinderella'
There's a new princess in town and her feet fit the glass slipper perfectly!
Amazon Prime Video just released a 30-second trailer for their upcoming live-action reboot Cinderella, starring singer Camila Cabello as the princess—her big-screen acting debut.
In this version, the timeless classic will be given a "modern unique twist" with a few changes here and there. For instance, Cabelo's character is a dressmaker who is also "an ambitious young woman whose dreams are bigger than the world will allow," and a genderless Fairy Godmother will be introduced.
Also seen in the trailer are Idina Menzel as the evil stepmother Vivian, Billy Porter as Fab G the fairy godmother, Pierce Brosnan as King Rowan, and Nicholas Galitzine as Prince Robert.
Other members of the cast include Maddie Baillio and Charlotte Spencer as the evil stepsisters; John Mulaney, Romesh Ranganathan, and James Corden as the footmen and mice friends; and Missy Elliott as the Town Crier.
Cabello shared the news on social media, calling it "one of the most magical experiences of my life."
In an interview with CBS last March, Porter revealed that he'll be playing a non-binary character.
"It hit me when I was on the set last week, how profound it is that I am playing the Fairy Godmother—they call it the Fab G. Magic has no gender. We are presenting this character as genderless—at least that’s how I’m playing it. And it’s really powerful," he said.
