LIST: These Hallyu-inspired spots will remind you of South Korea
South Korea is a haven for K-pop and K-drama fans. Plus, it’s a must-visit country if you’re obsessed with charming cafés and healing spots—alongside peeping cherry blossoms in the spring and snowy cities in the winter. Sadly, not all of us have the luxury to fangirl over the entertainment companies of our favorite artists or channel our inner K-drama heroine.
But, you don’t have to drown your sorrows in chicken and beer just yet. How about taking a trip to these tourist spots, cafés, and merch spots that remind you of South Korea?
Caratreats Café, Dasmariñas, Cavite
Carats will squeal in bliss as they step inside this quaint spot inspired by SEVENTEEN. The café is decorated with albums, photocards, cup-sleeves, and other fan-made merch.
Aside from merch, this café serves yummy comfort meals including creamy prawn pasta (P100), chocolatey fudge brownies (P190 for a dozen), or a filling set meal (P200). Plus, it even includes refreshing drinks inspired by other K-pop groups like GOT7 or Red Velvet.
The café is located at the MJV Old Building in Pala Pala Road, which is a few meters away from Robinsons Dasmariñas.
Seollem Café, Baguio City
Seollem Café is an ode to Crash Landing on You and Itaewon Class with interiors that are reminiscent of the iconic K-dramas. The café has two floors, with the first being a callback to Danbam Restaurant and the second that’s very much like Yoon Se-ri’s workspace and BinJin-inspired decor.
If you plan on visiting here, don't miss out on their refreshing drinks including the black sesame latte (P145), matcha tea latte (P165), and misutgaru tea latte (P135).
As for the food, the café serves street toast, corndogs, and pasta dishes—but the bestseller is their Korean fried chicken with flavors like original (P310), cheese (P350), soy (P330), and yangnyeom (P330), among others.
Bloom Garden, Baguio Country Club
Located just 20 minutes away from Seollem Café, Bloom Garden is a scenic area perfect to relax after a long road trip. The garden, adorned with Korean and Japanese plants and decorations, will make you feel that you’re walking in the streets of South Korea and Japan.
The garden is located at Baguio Country Club and is open to all, even if you will not be booking a stay in the hotel. Just pay P10 for the entrance fee and you’re free to bask in its sights.
Hisbeans Café, Diliman, Quezon City
A cozy café with authentic Korean food, what more can you ask?
Located along Timog Avenue in Quezon City, Hisbeans Philippines is a concept café where employees include persons with disabilities. The Instagram-worthy café is a spot where you can hang out with your friends or get your stuff done.
If you’re in the mood for coffee, how about trying their café latte (P150), cappuccino (P150), vanilla latte (P175), or cold brew latte (P175)? But, if you’re feeling fancy, you can get their specialty drinks like caramel hibeanccino (P165) or Hisbeans bundt cakes at P130 per piece.

New Lasema Spa, Makati City
Longtime Hallyu fans would recognize the look of this spa since it reminds us of the spa bonding scenes in oldie, but goodie K-dramas.
New Lasema Spa is a spa that offers Korean treatments that relaxes your body, mind, and soul. Plus, you even have the chance to savor a yummy feast when your session is over. If you’re unsure which treatment to get, you can start with its wet sauna treatment (complete with a pink robe and towel) or sitzbath.
But, if you’re feeling extra loaded, go for the full package which includes a jjimjilbang or a public bathhouse, wet sauna, massage and scrub, along with other treatments to choose from.
