'Hello Kitty & Friends: Kawaii Festival' at SM Megamall
SM Supermalls, in partnership with Sanrio Southeast Asia Pte Ltd., has launched the Hello Kitty & Friends: Kawaii Festival at SM Megamall.
With sakura (cherry blossom)—Japan's national flower—as this year's theme, the festival also features Sanrio characters Hello Kitty, My Melody, Cinnamoroll, and Kero Kerokeroppi.
Japan’s hanami season usually stretches from March to May of each year. From Sept. 1 to 18, the SM Megamall Atrium is transformed into a kawaii town depicting classic Japanese settings accompanied by sakura trees to allow shoppers to enjoy hanami, which means "watching blossoms."
There are four zones, and each features a Sanrio character.
