You know how this news thrills us: Miranda Priestly's (Meryl Streep's character) elegant townhouse on the Upper East Side has been sold for $26.5 million or more than 1.5 billion pesos!

In the 2006 movie, The Devil Wears Prada, Miranda, together with her husband and her two Harry Potter-loving daughters, called the NYC townhouse their home. In real life, it was owned by hedge-fund mogul Craig Effron and his wife.

According to People, the 12,000-square-foot Neo-Italian Renaissane-style property is spread out across six floors and features seven bedrooms and seven full bathrooms.

The house, which was bought by the couple in 2003, was renovated in 2005 and is housed in a historic 1907 structure. It has a number of outdoor areas with breathtaking views of the city skyline.

Among the other features of the property are a formal hall with a marble fireplace, a glamorous Murano chandelier, and a welcoming den with Anigre wood paneling. It also has a living room with two fireplaces, a wall of handcrafted bookcases, and three sets of arched French doors.

Moreover, the opulent house has a gym on the fourth floor, a basketball court on the top floor, and another terrace with a jacuzzi.

Robb Report also says that the townhouse was right across the street from the home of American journalist and social activist Gloria Steinem.

The buyer of the home was not named, but his representatives from Douglas Elliman said that he thought the house being featured in the film was a “cool tidbit.”
