The cast of Running Man Philippines is well into shooting the show in South Korea and one of its stars, Mikael Daez, is sharing some handy travel tips—including commuting and budget food hacks—for Koreaboos.

Hotel hacks

First of Daez's tip videos are some life hacks on making a long stay in Seoul more comfortable. He's been staying at a hotel while filming so he has tried to create a homey space to live in to remove the hassles of living out of his luggage.

The actor suggested bringing or buying these essentials for a long trip:

  • Hamper for your dirty clothes
  • Plastic rack and shelves for your clean clothes
  • An extension cord to plug in all your gadgets
  • Items that make you happy—for Daez these are coffee, keyboard, and mouse

Commuting tips

On his days off from shooting, Daez was on the prowl for interesting cafes to visit in South Korea. For this, he had to learn how to take the bus.

"Learning how to use the bus in South Korea is super easy, the only problem is that everything is in Korean. There's absolutely no English so you always have to pay attention if you don't want to get lost," he shared.

Good eats

Thinking about where to eat? Let's follow Daez's footsteps and add these spots to your South Korea itinerary.

Fritz Coffee in Wonseo

Fritz Coffee is a charming cafe located inside a museum that serves up coffee and donuts.

"They're extremely light, super fluffy, and freshly baked while not being too sweet. It goes so well with a properly made coffee," Daez described the donuts.

A cup of joe with the treat costs 7,900 Korean Won or P350.

Frolla

If you wanna level up from the usual Korean cuisine, add this cozy Italian cafe called Frolla.

Daez and Running Man PH co-star Glaiza de Castro tried out drinks and dishes like tiramisu and chocolate mousse espresso, prosciutto panini, avocado toast, Italian macchiato, and a boozy coffee.

"The coffee was surprisingly pleasant and the food was on point as well," the actor wrote.

Pastel Coffee Works

A huge coffee fan, Daez shared a look at his favorite coffee shop in Seoul, Pastel Coffee Works.

"They have extra yummy beans at hand for the more adventurous coffee goers. The vibe of the cafe is just my type—very laid back with a look that I would like to have in my own coffee shop in the not-so-distant future," he said.

The Running Man PH star also loves the cheesecake and banana bread from the coffee shop.

Korean convenience store dinner

For those who don't always want to dine out, Daez shared his easy-to-make dinner recipe with ingredients you can find at a convenience store.

With a P500 budget, the actor got chicken breast, multi-grain rice, veggies, egg, and banana milk.

"It's so easy to prepare my dinner—open everything, microwave, 'yun na," he said in a video, showing his dinner plate.

“In Korea, they have a LOT of ready-to-eat items— rice, meat, veggies, noodles, etc. Plus, they also have all the nutritional data clearly labeled which helps me plan out my meals,” Daez wrote in the caption.
