This Thailand resort has Jungle Bubbles where you can sleep alongside elephants

Bubble pods have been popping everywhere—in restaurants, hotels and even concert venues—in the past couple of months.

But even before the pandemic gave rise to these enclosed structures as a safe way to enjoy the outdoors, a resort in Thailand had already set the bar high when it comes to taking a vacay safely.

Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort in Chiang Rai, Thailand has luxury bubble suites, called Jungle Bubbles, which allow guests to wake up and sleep alongside elephants while savoring stunning sunrises and sunsets.

The 236-square-foot transparent pods, according to the resort, were custom designed by construction firm Eye In The Sky with high-tech polyester fabric using Precontraint Serge Ferrari technology.

Each bubble comes complete with a spacious living room and bedroom fully-furnished with a king-size bed, seating area, and air-conditioning. And when nature calls, you wouldn’t have to worry about stepping outside and stumbling with the gentle giants because it also has a built-in non-transparent bathroom.

Anantara propped these bubbles on the wooden deck above the forest, so you can enjoy an uninterrupted view of the elephants plus the starry sky.

Booking a stay at the resort and more so its Jungle Bubbles can also help the property provide a comfortable habitat for its 22 elephants who were all rescued from Thailand’s city streets.

Guests can learn more about “how these intelligent creatures think and behave” in Anantara’s Walking With Giants tours. “Guests can observe the elephants’ social interaction in their native habitat. The fun of either a river bath or mud playtime demonstrates just how cheeky these graceful animals can be,” Etienne De Villiers, Anantara’s cluster director of public relations, explained to Apartment Therapy.

When restrictions to travel abroad are lifted, guests coming from the Philippines can book an overnight stay for two persons in Anantara Jungle Bubbles for P21,788.

Travel from the country to Thailand requires documents such as Certificate of Entry into the Kingdom of Thailand (entry permission letter), letter of guarantee of healthcare insurance (covering all medical treatments, including COVID-19, up to at least USD 100,000), and hotel confirmation letter, among many others, stated on the resort’s website.
