Is there a better way to start a work day than with coffee?
In a busy business district like Makati, workers look for that trusty cup of joe to give them a jolt of energy during their nine-to-fives. But some coffee shops offer more than just drinks, they offer a place to work where professionals can crunch some numbers as they indulge in coffee.
Aside from the usual coffee shops in the city, Makati is also home to new cafés with a more chill and cozy vibe offering an ambient space to work or relax after a work day.
Satori Specialty Coffee
Located in Bel-Air, Makati, Satori Specialty Coffee offers more than just a cup of coffee. As the shops said on Instagram, they aren't just serving customers, they're "creating a community."
It's a perfect hub for coffee lovers as it features beans from international roasteries and has an Open Brew Bar for enthusiasts to show off their skills and learn the art of coffee.
Espresso-based drinks range from P225 to P270 while their signature Satori (Tokyo drip, cold brew, and Tokyo drip tonic) is priced at P465 for a set of four. They also offer lattes, pour-overs, cold brews, and pastries.

Beehive Coffee
Nestled in Poblacion, Beehive Coffee is a great place to spend a day for self-care. As its name suggests, this café serves up some sweet drinks like its honey latte, butterscotch latte, and Spanish latte.
Besides the coffee, Beehive is next to a nail spa so those who want to have a pamper day can kick back and get their nails done as they sip some coffee.

Candid Coffee
"Homemade caramel na may asin" anyone?
Candid Coffee isn't your usual café as its descriptions for drinks will have you doubled over laughing. Its exteriors don a chic look, an aesthetic ambiance for those who want to get some work done or chill, but its menu tells a different story with descriptions like "Tea na galing Thailand" for its Thai Tea and "Medj sossy 'cause we make our own chocolate ganaché" for its Dark Chocolate Mocha.
As the café's founder Lorenzo Castillo told PhilSTAR L!fe, the coffee here is specialty but "less intimidating." Their beans are 100% premium local, too.
Candid Coffee has six branches, including its flagship store in SM Air Mall near The Rise Makati.
Saglit by Flower Ranch Café
First beginning as a coffee stop on Shaw Boulevard, Flower Ranch Café has opened up a shop in Poblacion, bringing its serene vibe to the bustling city.
Their cozy Saglit café is a cottage-core haven as it's adorned with vibrant flowers like sunflowers, dried eucalyptus, carnations, mums, purple asters, lilies, and more which they also sell.
Even their drinks have a cottage core feel to them with brews like orange masala chai, lemon espresso tonic, matcha latte, and rose tea cold brew. These drinks are affordable with prices ranging from P120 to P200 and you can pair them with pastries.
On Instagram, Saglit by Flower Ranch Café also posts about activities they hold in their cozy shop like yard sales, pottery pop-ups, and flea markets.

Mod Coffee
Located in Salcedo Village, Mod Coffee is one of the trendiest cafés in town just with its chic retro interiors and must-try coffee and drinks.
This spot is a great spot to work as there's a communal table fitted with sockets and comfortable seats. It's also the perfect hangout since it's pet-friendly, so you can bring along your fur baby to a meetup or date here.
Among the drinks to try are their Single Origin Pour-Overs like the Ethiopia Kaffa Geisha Washed available in either hot or iced. In addition to the usual coffee shop pastries, Mod Coffee also offers Sandwich delis to fill your stomach while you work.

Common Man Coffee Roasters
Singapore's famed Common Man Coffee Roasters has officially arrived in the Philippines, bringing an "elevated cafe experience" to Filipinos.
Common Man's roastery features beans from all over the world like Thailand and Ethiopia. They also have filter coffee and espresso drinks like the Nitro Honey Oat and Flat white, which range from P190 to P250.
While the coffee's the hero of the café, you can't miss out on trying out their premium brunch options.
