The Department of Tourism (DOT) on Sept. 14 said the government is allowing “interzonal leisure travel” for residents of Metro Manila as it is placed under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) with Alert Level 4 classification from Sept. 16 to 30.

Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat said leisure travel may resume in areas under GCQ and Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ), according to Philippine News Agency. Puyat added that some local government units (LGUs) may not yet allow leisure and non-essential travel.

The DOT also said in a statement: “Travelers will also be subject to reasonable restrictions based on age and comorbidities as may be determined by their LGU and the reasonable regulations of their destination’s LGU.”

Following the announcement, some airlines have released their schedules from Sept. 16 to 30.

PAL, Cebu Pacific and AirAsia are advising all passengers to check-in online, download the Traze Contact Tracing app, and check their destination’s LGU before booking and flying. AirSwift is not resuming commercial flights just yet.

Philippine Airlines

Philippine Airlines (PAL) posted on Sept. 14 its domestic flight schedules via Manila and Cebu.

PAL reminds domestic passengers to strictly observe minimum public health standards in all airport facilities and onboard the aircraft. They must also accomplish PAL’s Passenger Profile and Health Declaration Form five days before their departure.

PAL passengers are required to undergo RT-PCR and antigen testing at the Philippines Airlines Learning Center (PLC) located at 540 Padre Faura cor. Adriatico St., Ermita, Manila, or PAL Gate 3 located at Andrews Avenue, Pasay City.

They must also have a digital or print copy of their Travel Coordination permit issued by the S-Pass Travel Management System, confirmed hotel booking, health declaration form, and proof of identity with Philippine residency.

AirSwift

AirSwift is cancelling all commercial flights from Manila-El Nido-Manila and Manila-Caticlan-Manila until Sept. 30 as it awaits the government’s “full guidelines for leisure travel.”

It is, however, mounting special Manila-El Nido-Manila for essential passengers (Authorized Persons Outside Residence and Locally Stranded Individuals).
