Chances are if you’ve been searching for a place to stay in Baguio City and have been browsing through Airbnb listings or Instagram, you’ll have come across the Twin Glass Treehouse of Tudor in the Pines.
Since they opened their doors in December 2019, this Insta-famous treetop accommodation has consistently ranked as a top bucketlist destination among those looking for a place to stay in the City of Pines.
Unfortunately, many Pinoys haven’t had a chance to travel to Baguio again in the past two years because of the pandemic.
With Christmas season coming up, more people are eager to revisit Baguio once again for the chilly weather, great eats, and nostalgic vibe. And while there are many hotels based in the main city proper, sometimes you just want to stay somewhere unique for a special getaway.
But what sets Tudor in the Pines apart from the usual hotels in Baguio?
In an interview with PhilSTAR L!fe, the proprietor of the Airbnb property shared that Tudor in the Pines is actually an estate comprised of seven unique residences within a gated property, accommodating a maximum of 30 guests.
While the Twin Glass Treehouse is the most famous “room” here, there are other accommodations to choose from set among the lush green pine forest, including an English-inspired Tudor House, Royal Cottage, Garden Terrace, Forest Terrace, Pine Cone Treehouse and Pine Needle Treehouse.
“It was back in 2017, that the owner who grew up in Baguio City but living abroad for many years decided to search for a nice home to enjoy her retirement. It was her dream to live in a home surrounded with lush pine forests and sound of chirping birds. Yet a house not too far from the city center,” the Airbnb proprietor told PhilSTAR L!fe.
After searching for a place in Baguio, she finally found one that met her requirements. However, since the original house was rather big for a couple, an old architect friend suggested that they transform it into a vacation home and open it to guests instead.
The owner, an avid traveler who had many pleasant experiences using the homestay Airbnb platform, agreed with converting their property into a homestay. Along with her husband, who loves architecture, they decided on a theme and design inspired by their travels.
“The medieval Tudor House design was inspired by a tour of England by the owner some years ago. She found the design unique and typical of old English lodges surrounded with pine forest and a private garden of selected colourful and fragrant plants," the proprietor shared.
"The original old house was transformed into the Tudor Design with large glass panels for an all-round panoramic view of the garden and forest. Consisting of five uniquely designed homes, every unit has its own unique character,” they added.
Looking for a place to make new memories and celebrate special events with the family or extended clan? The main Tudor House which can accommodate 10 to 12 guests comes with a fully equipped kitchen. It also has a glass house lounge and a large dining area, where groups can gather comfortably and enjoy the Baguio weather and natural surroundings.
Below the Tudor House is the Forest Terrace which has three rooms to accommodate six guests. Ideal for art lovers, this house is decorated with many large original oil paintings.
Nature lovers can really soak in the scenery of Baguio as the entire house has views of the garden and pine trees.
The estate is also home to the Royal Cottage, a cozy lodge accessible through a stone archway and a black gallery decorated with oil paintings and collectible items.
Guests have two bedrooms to choose from in this charming cottage, with each room containing a king size bed and a day bed overlooking the garden and waterfalls. This property also comes with an exclusive bathroom with a long bath tub, with a view of the trees, for a luxurious bathtime experience.
Below the Royal Cottage is the Garden Terrace which has a full height glass encased timber deck patio. A minimalist designed home, this property has two bedrooms good for up to four guests. Like the other rooms in the estate, the vacation home also provides a view of the waterfall and gardens.
Across the four homes and divided by a private garden is the much sought-after Twin Glass Treehouse, said to be the only one of its kind in the world.
This particular room, which was previously featured on PhilSTAR L!fe, is a unique glass treehouse ideal for a staycations with family, friends or a significant other. Located on top of Baguio’s pinewood forest, the property is ideal for nature-lovers who just want to take a break and get away from the city.
The Pine Cone Treehouse provides a view of the garden and manmade waterfall while the Pine Needle Treehouse has a view of the pines forest. Each Treehouse is good for two guests and is only accessible by a hanging bridge high above the ground, making it a great romantic getaway for couples and adventurous travelers.
“Keeping the English theme in mind, the owner also added an iconic London Red Telephone booth which turned out to be an instant attraction for photo-shoot. In fact every corner of the estate is instagrammable,” they shared.
The property also has a four-story high Sky View Tower that offers a 360 degree view of the surrounding sceneries. Besides photo shoots, adventurous guests can get an adrenaline walk just crossing the hanging bridges or doing an “air walk” up the top deck.
The proprietor shared that there’s also a newly built Pines Forest View Deck high above the ground for bonding over coffee. For the health conscious, a private gym is available for use within the premises, while a fully equipped BBQ set and bonfire place is made available upon request.
Besides offering a clean and comfortable lodging in Baguio City, the owner really designed the place as a retreat where family and friends can have a memorable quality time bonding together.

- Parking at Tudor in the Pines estate is limited so it's best to just bring one car.
- Some noise might be heard (which is specified in their listing) due to the campfire located below the treehouses. This has a time restriction, so guests are advised to message the hosts if other guests use the campfire area beyond the time allowed.
- Like most of Baguio’s roads in the outskirts of the city, the drive up to the house can be quite dark, but still manageable especially at night.
- The Twin Glass Treehouse is ideal for young couples, but may not be the best option for seniors as getting here involves passing a hanging bridge and tight staircase.
