Missing BTS? These tourist spots in South Korea are perfect for your ARMY needs

Published Jun 18, 2022 12:00 pm

If there’s one way to soothe our ARMY hearts, traveling to tourist spots that remind us of BTS is the best way to do it.

Nothing beats the experience of seeing the places where the K-pop supergroup filmed their music videos and spent their trainee days. It feels like seeing the world through their eyes, even for just a moment.

PhilSTAR L!fe has teamed up with Best of the Best Manila to create a list of tourist spots in South Korea that were visited by BTS—aside from Big Hit and HYBE’s buildings.

Jumunjin Beach

Jumunbuk-ro, Gangneung-si, Gangwon Province

ARMYs would immediately recognize the picturesque beach since it’s the location where the cover of their 2017 album, You Never Walk Alone, was taken. The place is breathtaking in itself, but what makes it stand out is how it reminds us of BTS comforting us from afar.

Yoojung Sikdang

Dosan-daero 28-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul

If you’re curious about BTS’ rookie days, Yoojung Sikdang restaurant is a glimpse of how their journey started. The homey spot sells traditional Korean dishes like kimchi and sausage stew, cold bean-soup noodles, cold buckwheat noodles, and fermented soybean paste soup at an affordable price.

Dae Jang Geum Theme Park

If you want to channel your inner Agust D, the Dae Jang Geum Theme Park is the place to go. The tourist spot is where Suga, Jin, and Jungkook filmed the music video for Daechwita. It is also the location where K-drama classics like Dong Yi, Queen Seondeok, and Moon Embracing The Sun were brought to life.

Iryeong Station

Samsang-ri, Jangheung-myeon, Yangju, Gyeonggi Province

Bring on the tears as you walk down Iryeong Station, an abandoned place where the music video of Spring Day was made. Savor a bittersweet trip down memory lane as you reminisce about the location where BTS started to make a mark as the global superstars they are today.

Yangpyeong Camp

209 Yeonsu-ro, Yongmun-myeon, Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do

OG ARMYs, remember young and angsty BTS during War Of Hormone era? Allow Yangpyeong Camp, an educational theme park in Gwangju province, to take you back to the septet’s youth who had nothing but their love for music.

If ever the English academy looks familiar to you, it’s also the place where the Korean adaptation of Boys Over Flowers was filmed.
