Are you in the mood for a sweet treat?

Many people “can’t get knafeh” of FIX Dessert Chocolatier’s Dubai chocolate, which is a chocolate bar that spotlights the heavenly combination of pistachios and knafeh (crispy shredded phyllo pastry) inside.

The offering has been making the rounds on social media for months now, and it’s been so hot that even local shops have decided to bring the trend to the next level by giving it their own takes.

PhilSTAR L!fe recently enjoyed some mouthwatering spin-offs of the viral treat. From doughnuts to frozen yogurt, here are some Dubai chocolate-inspired items that are worth a try.

Czaczacza’s Knafeh Chocolate Pistachio Doughnut
Knafeh Chocolate Pistachio Doughnut by Czaczacza

Czaczacza has a new doughnut flavor on its menu. The Knafeh Chocolate Pistachio Doughnut is the cafe’s take on ”Can’t Get Knafeh of It.”

The brand’s attempt to achieve the snappy texture of the tempered chocolate in the doughnut’s coating is quite commendable. Like the chocolate bar, this pastry is also filled with pistachio-flavored knafeh, with the latter giving an exciting texture to the dessert with its crisp. The pistachio flavor is evident but not overpowering, so expect a good balance of earthy and nutty hints when you try this.

You can enjoy this treat for P250 per piece, P1,500 for half a dozen, and P3,000 for one dozen. You can make an order via their Facebook or Instagram page or by visiting their physical stores at SM Marikina, SM Grand Central, The Block at SM North EDSA, SM San Mateo, and SM Masinag.

Konu’s Pistachio Knafeh Cereal Jar
Konu's Mini Crunch Cereal Jar (Pistachio Knafeh)

Konu transformed the viral Dubai chocolate into crunchy cereal.

This chocolate mini cereal is glazed with a smooth pistachio filling and loaded with toasted kataifi, which provide it with a burst of flavor and texture. Its sweet, earthy, and nutty notes complement each other, but if you’re not into rich desserts, it could become too much for you after a couple of bites.

Want to give it a try? The pistachio knafeh flavored cereal jar is available at Konu’s Instagram, TikTok, Shopee, and Lazada pages for only P298 (240g). It also has other variants such as matcha, cookies and cream, chocolate, among others.

Brownie Queen’s Knafeh Chocolate Pistachio Brownie

Brownie Queen’s twist on the beloved chocolate bar is, of course, in brownie form.

The Pistachio Kataifi Crunch Chocolate Brownie is not overwhelmingly sweet, and the kataifi is still crunchy even after being mixed with the tempered chocolate sauce on top that hardens when refrigerated. While we love its different textures—from the fudginess of the brownie to the crispiness of the knafeh—it could have used more pistachio as it was dominated by its chocolatey taste.

The brownie offering is priced at P399 and can be purchased either via Facebook or Instagram

Mery-Yo Frozen Yogurt’s Kataifi Pastry with Pistachio Sauce

If you prefer pistachio over chocolate and are looking for a healthy take on the trending treat, Mery-Yo Frozen Yogurt’s Kataifi Pastry with Pistachio Sauce could be your best bet.

The limited-edition menu item is quite straightforward: It uses frozen yogurt as its base, which is then topped with creamy pistachio sauce and layered with crispy knafeh to seal the deal. Surprisingly, the yogurt’s tanginess proved a perfect complement to the pistachio’s sweetness. Don’t expect to have chocolate hints from this dessert though—it doesn’t have any.

The frozen yogurt offering is available for P169. You can get it at Mery-Yo Frozen Yogurt’s physical store at Promenade Mall in Greenhills.
