Want to live in Italy? You could get paid up to P1.9 million to move to one of its towns

Dreaming of residing in a lovely town in Italy—and getting paid to do it?

In case you didn’t know, you can still apply for a Residency in the Mountains program, which was recently launched by Italian officials to encourage some people to check out the Tuscan countryside and live there long-term.

In an effort to boost its population, the country has allocated a fund to pay people up to 30,000 euros (P1.9 million) to relocate to Tuscany, which is famous for its red wine and stunning architecture, among others.

The grant will cover 50% of renovation and purchasing costs of a house in one of 76 Tuscan mountain cities with less than 5,000 people. It includes San Casciano dei Bagni, Castel San Niccolo, Caprese Michelangelo, and Capraia Isola.

Interested in the offer? To be eligible to apply, you must be an Italian citizen or a citizen of another European Union state or a non-EU citizen holding a residence permit valid for no less than 10 years. You must also be of legal age.
