Former SpaceX engineers to launch US food spot where robotic machines can make pizza in less than five minutes
A food spot developed by former SpaceX engineers is making the rounds online for its unique way of making pizza for its customers.
In the restaurant dubbed “Stellar Pizza,” robotic machines are the ones making pizza in only under five minutes. Business Insider quickly shared the production process in a report: “First, a ball of homemade pizza dough is put into the machine, where it gets pressed and moulded into a round shape.”
“Once the dough is ready, the machine tops the pizza with sauce and other ingredients,” it added. Among the available flavors are pepperoni and supreme pizza, but food lovers can also customize their own according to their liking.
“The raw pizza is then inserted into one of four high-temperature ovens in the robotic machine,” as per the article.
Stellar Pizza was founded by Benson Tsai (CEO)—who worked on advanced battery systems for rockets and satellites at Elon Musk’s company for five years—alongside other former SpaceX engineers Brian Langone and James Wahawisan.
Some of its employees are also from the same aerospace firm, including its former executive chef Ted Cizma who tapped pizza consultant Noel Brohner to ensure product quality.
The pizzeria is set to open in Los Angeles, California this year.
