Have bag, will travel

But before you pack your bags, add these things to your travel checklist:
- Passport/Visa. Make sure your passport and any necessary travel visas are up to date. Some countries require a passport to be valid for at least six months after your scheduled return.
- Get vaccinated. It’s best to get the necessary vaccinations out of the way as soon as possible because it can take a few weeks to build full immunity.
- Vaccination cards. Always bring your vaccination card showing proof of your COVID-19 vaccine.
- Cash. As the saying goes, “cash is king.” Bring a mix of cash and local currency before hand.
- Credit cards. Notify your bank and credit card companies about your travel dates so they don’t deny your purchases. It’s always a good idea to bring multiple cards in case one stops working.
- E-Wallets. Airlines, hotels and transportation honor e-wallets like GCash and Maya.
- Travel plans. Book the most direct and simple travel that your budget will allow.
- Pocket WiFi. Now, you can avail of pocket WiFi before leaving the country. This will enable you to stay connected at fraction of the cost than availing it overseas.
- Hotels. Book accommodations close to the sites you want to explore, or have easy access to public transport like buses, and trains.
- Transportation. In certain countries, ride hailing apps are available. Having them updated and linked to your credit card or e-wallets will come handy.
