First-ever ‘Pulutan Fest’ will celebrate trending and classic Pinoy street food
Calling all foodies! In the mood to chow down on trending dishes and classic pulutan from various neighborhoods all in one space?
Head on over to the Pulutan Fest happening on July 22, 2023 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) Complex in Pasay City.
The fist-ever annual food and drinks festival aims to celebrate the unique and diverse pulutan culture culture of the Philippines. Pulutan, which comes from the root word “pulot” which means to “to pick up” or “grab”, typically refers to food meant to be eaten with alcohol similar to bar chow or tapas.
“Imagine a culinary gathering where the legendary sisig from Makati, viral sisig from Marikina, trending grilled balut from Tondo, all-time favorite isawan from Quezon City, classic ihaw-ihaw from Cavite, and many more mouthwatering treats come together in one place,” wrote event organizers on their official website.
The event will gather pulutan vendors including Mang Larry’s Isawan, the famous grill house which has been operating in University of the Philippines Diliman since 1984, the “legendary” Sisig sa Rada, and Lugawan sa Tejeros, to name a few.
Along with various food stalls, attendees can expect drink stalls, fiesta games, raffle prizes, as well as live performances by Brownman Revival, P.O.T, The JR OCA Experience, Kosmikskala, and Bopek.
The event will be highlighted with “The Pulutan of the Year Awards,” where attendees can actively participate in voting for their favorite dish.
Food influencers have also been invited to join the festivities and will be part of the judging panel to vote for the Influencers’ Choice Pulutan of the Year.
Pulutan Fest 2023 will take place at the 20,000 sqm park venue of Liwasang Kalikasan, CCP Complex, Pasay City on July 22, 2023. The gates open at 3:00 pm and the event will last until 12:00 midnight.
